Jenny Vaughan Obituary, Death – Because of the departure of Dr. Jenny Vaughan, who was a friend and colleague who was regarded in the highest respect by the organization, DAUK has been left with a profound feeling of loss. Dr. Jenny Vaughan was held in the greatest regard by the organization. Jenny was a member of the group and served as its leader at various stages throughout its history.
She was an active participant in the organization from the very beginning of its existence, when it was still relatively new. Her fiery and passionate tendencies manifested themselves in a variety of different areas, including the pursuit of justice for Drs. David Sellu and Hadiza Bawa-Garba, the expression “learn not blame,” and the act of blowing the whistle. These are all examples of how her fiery and passionate tendencies manifested themselves.
Jenny would always be available to help and encourage anyone who called her at any time, even when she was unwell. She would be available to everyone who called her. That she would be there for them was something that she would say. There was no matter what form of unfairness occurred; this was remained the case regardless of the circumstances.
As a way to pay tribute to her memory, we are going to do everything in our power to advance healthcare equity, a cause that she was incredibly enthusiastic about. To honor her, we shall be doing this as a means of paying tribute. We will never forget her mantra, which is “learn, not blame,” and it will be permanently inscribed in both our minds and our hearts. I wish and pray that she is able to find the peace that beyond all understanding and remains with her forever
