Jeffrey Chapman Obituary, Death; – The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the individual who was fatally shot by law enforcement at the VA hospital in Reno early Wednesday morning as 58-year-old Jeffrey Chapman, a resident of Reno.
According to the medical examiner’s office, Chapman entered the emergency department of the hospital wielding a weapon and was subsequently shot by law enforcement after advancing towards them.
The medical examiner determined that Chapman died from multiple gunshot wounds. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is currently conducting an investigation into the incident.
Sandra Breault, a public affairs specialist with the FBI’s Las Vegas office, indicated that agents were present at the scene but refrained from providing additional comments due to the ongoing investigation.
