Jeffery Rooks Obituary, – Police Chief Kyle LeBouef has confirmed the identification of the victim in a tragic shooting incident that took place in Eunice. The incident occurred on the evening of May 21, 2024, just before 9:30 pm. Upon arrival, responding officers discovered that both a man and a juvenile had sustained gunshot wounds inside a residence. Preliminary investigations revealed that an altercation had taken place involving two men prior to the shooting.
Regrettably, the victim, identified as Jeffery Rooks, a 21-year-old resident of Eunice, was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the juvenile victim was promptly transported to a local hospital, where medical professionals determined their injuries to be non-life threatening.
