Jeff Maneth,Myra Maneth Obituary, Death; – The three individuals who lost their lives in the crash of a small aircraft in a wooded region of Polk County on Friday afternoon have been identified as the father and grandparents of Carter Maneth, a golfer at Middle Tennessee State University.
The family was en route to attend a golf tournament at the University of North Carolina when the tragic incident occurred. Among the deceased was Jeff Maneth, the president of Anderson Frazier Insurance, recognized as an innovative leader in the insurance sector who dedicated himself to his clients.
He held several notable positions, including past president of the Emerging Leaders of the Big I, former Arkansas Independent Insurance Young Agent of the Year, and President-elect of the Big I. Also among the victims were Jeff Maneth’s parents, Marion and Myra Maneth. The 1976 Mooney M20F was traveling from Chattanooga to Burlington, North Carolina, according to authorities.
In a statement released on Saturday, MTSU Athletics expressed their condolences, stating, ‘Our hearts are with Carter and his loved ones during this unimaginable time. We are keeping him and his family in our thoughts and prayers, and we ask the Blue Raider community to do the same.’
The McGee Tyson Airport Air Traffic Control Tower notified Polk County 911 about a small plane that had vanished from radar. At 2:23 p.m. on Friday, multiple Tri-State Mutual Aid agencies responded to the 1700 block of Tellico Reliance Road, located near the Cherokee National Forest in Polk County, to search for the missing aircraft.
Rescue teams entered the woods close to the last known location of the plane on radar. By 4:54 p.m., they reported discovering the wreckage of the aircraft along with three deceased individuals. The Federal Aviation Administration will conduct an investigation into the cause of the crash.
