Jazmien RaeLynn Hernandez Obituary, Death; – The victim in the homicide incident that occurred on Cunningham Road in Killeen has been officially identified. Killeen Police were dispatched to the Best Western Plus at 2709 Cunningham Road around 1:18 p.m. on Thursday, following multiple 9-1-1 reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, officers discovered an unconscious woman and a man, both suffering from gunshot wounds. They promptly initiated life-saving efforts on both individuals until paramedics arrived. The 34-year-old man was airlifted to Baylor Scott & White Hospital, where he was reported to be conscious and alert. The woman, identified as 28-year-old Jazmien Rae’Lynn Hernandez, unfortunately succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:05 p.m. by Justice of the Peace Cliff Coleman.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the 34-year-old man was involved in a verbal dispute with a 32-year-old man outside the hotel. During this confrontation, both parties discharged firearms, resulting in injuries to themselves and Hernandez.
Witnesses informed officers that the 32-year-old man fled the scene on foot heading south, leading to a search of the vicinity. Shortly thereafter, officers received information that a man with gunshot wounds had arrived at the hospital, which was confirmed to be the individual who had fled. Both men are currently hospitalized and are reported to be in stable condition.
