Jason Rogers Obituary, Death;- Authorities have confirmed the identity of the individual who was fatally shot in his residence on Sunday afternoon as 46-year-old Jason Rogers.
On Monday night, law enforcement apprehended the suspect, Jason M. Rook, in Coeur d’Alene. Rook made his initial appearance in Kootenai County Court on Tuesday. He is believed to be the former boyfriend of Rogers’ girlfriend and is currently facing charges of murder and burglary. Rook is being held in the Kootenai County Jail without the possibility of bail.
Rogers was the proprietor of the Inland Kava Bar located on Lakeside Avenue in downtown Coeur d’Alene. Local residents and business owners noted that he was beginning to establish a reputation for himself and his establishment within the community. Daniel Bently, who owns a nearby business, characterized Rogers as a compassionate individual whose life was cut short in the North Idaho community.
“When someone in the community starts to connect with others, you notice them more frequently, whether it’s grabbing a cup of coffee or going about their work. And now that’s all come to an end,” Bently remarked. “It’s sudden, unexpected, and profoundly sad. It truly is heartbreaking.”
Bently further mentioned that Rogers aimed to provide a distinctive and soothing experience to the Coeur d’Alene area through his business.
