An English and biology double major student at Connecticut College has passed away. Jason Askri was a Pre-Veterinary Student – English & Biology (Ecology) Major at Connecticut College.
According to reports, he died unexpectedly leaving his entire family and school community in pain. He was a 2022 graduate of Midwood High School. Askri was mentored by Cali Turner Tomascewicz, NOAA Fisheries Southwest Fisheries Science Center and David Weller, NOAA Fisheries Southwest Fisheries Science Center. Out of respect for his family, Askri’s cause of death will not be released.
The Brooklyn, New York native was a resilient student who wanted to make a positive impact on his life. When asked to introduce himself, Askri would say “I am currently a pre-veterinary student, attending Connecticut College, double majoring in English and biology with a concentration in ecology. Utilizing this interdisciplinary background, I aim to pursue a career as a wildlife veterinarian, specializing in conservation efforts to safeguard endangered species.”
He was supposed to graduate in 2026.
