Jared Nelson Obituary, Death; – A 27-year-old man from Triad lost his life in a collision, as reported by troopers from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
On Wednesday at approximately 6:35 a.m., troopers responded to an incident on Interstate 77 South in Iredell County, near Interstate 40. According to officials, a Mitsubishi traveling on I-77 failed to slow down.
The Mitsubishi subsequently collided with a Volvo semi-truck that was not towing a trailer. This impact also resulted in the semi-truck crashing into a Chevrolet SUV.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, identified as Jared Nelson, 27, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Officials noted that the semi-truck driver suffered minor injuries, while the SUV driver was unharmed. Authorities believe that excessive speed was a contributing factor to the accident.
