Janet Vercruysse,Demico Elyea-Goss Obituary, Death; – Waite Park police have released additional information regarding a suspected murder-suicide that took place on Saturday afternoon. At approximately 2:12 p.m., two officers were attending to an unrelated matter in the 200 block of 10th Avenue North when they heard gunfire from across the street.
After notifying Stearns County Dispatch about the gunshots, the officers encountered two children, aged 5 and 8, who had exited a nearby residence, claiming that a shooting had occurred. Once the children were safely placed in a police vehicle, the officers entered the home and discovered the bodies of two adults.
The deceased individuals have been identified as 36-year-old Janet Vercruysse and 29-year-old Demico Elyea-Goss. An autopsy conducted by authorities indicated that Vercruysse had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, while Elyea-Goss appeared to have died by suicide, suggesting a murder-suicide scenario.
