Jane Straight Death – The Nevada Highway Patrol reported that a fatal crash occurred on U.S. Highway 6 at mile marker 72 on June 5. The investigation determined that a black Jeep Wrangler was heading west on US-6 when it veered off the right side of the road and collided with a metal highway sign.
The driver attempted to correct by steering left, but overcorrected, causing the Jeep to cross both lanes and overturn south of the highway. The driver sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted from the scene, but unfortunately succumbed to those injuries at the hospital.
The victim was identified as Jane Straight, a 69-year-old resident of Lancaster, South Carolina.
