James Thomas Jr Obituary, Death; – A 16-year-old male who succumbed to injuries sustained in a shooting incident early Saturday has been named. James Thomas Jr. was declared deceased in the 900 block of Sherwood Drive, as confirmed by Montgomery County Coroner Dr. Kent Harshbarger.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the location following reports of a shooting at approximately 12:57 a.m. Saturday, according to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center. A 911 caller reported, “There’s blood all over here,” expressing uncertainty about the source of the blood. The caller also noted, “There’s a gun laying right here on the ground.”
The individual was described as lying down and unresponsive. We have contacted the Dayton police for further details. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
