James Stroud Sr Obituary, Death; – An 80-year-old man from Chicago was fatally shot in a drive-by incident on Wednesday morning, prompting authorities to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
The incident occurred shortly after 10:00 a.m. in the 1400 block of W. 90th St., as reported by the Chicago Police Department in a statement to USA TODAY on Thursday morning.
Authorities have identified the victim as James Stroud Sr., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. He was seated in a vehicle when an assailant in another vehicle approached, brandished a firearm, and discharged multiple rounds towards him, striking him in the head and back. Stroud was transported to Christ Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
As of Thursday morning, police have stated that no suspects are in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
