James Miller Obituary, Death; – A 39-year-old man who lost his life on Sunday evening has been confirmed as the latest homicide victim in the city.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood has identified the individual as James Miller, aged 39, who was involved in a fatal incident shortly before 8 p.m. on Peoria’s East Bluff. “The victim, James Miller, residing on East Arcadia Avenue in Peoria, was transported to OSF Healthcare Saint Francis Medical Center in an unresponsive state, not breathing, and without a pulse.
Unfortunately, despite extensive resuscitation efforts, Miller was declared deceased at 8:10 p.m., shortly after his arrival,” he stated. Harwood noted that the investigation is ongoing, and an autopsy is scheduled for the following day. According to Semone Roth of the Peoria Police Department, officers responded to reports of the shooting in the 300 block of East Arcadia Avenue just before 7:50 p.m.
This tragic incident marks the 22nd homicide in the city for the year 2024 and is the first since mid-November.
