James Chupp Obituary, – Insurance investigators were present at the site of a fire on the west side on June 14, where James Chupp, 59, of Bloomington was discovered deceased. Fire Marshal Tim Clapp of the Bloomington Fire Department stated that the fire, which occurred in an outdoor shed behind a residence on South Parkway Drive, was likely accidental. However, the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Chupp was reportedly using the shed as living quarters. Emergency responders arrived at the scene after receiving a report of smoke coming from the shed. Despite efforts to resuscitate him, Chupp was pronounced dead at the scene. Coroner Joani Stalcup confirmed that Chupp was found inside the shed that caught fire.
