Caleb Wise Death – An old dispute over a break-in escalated when two persons arrived at an abandoned house where four adolescents were hanging out. They opened fire, killing three of them and wounding the fourth, according to authorities in Columbia, South Carolina, on Monday. Arrested and accused of three charges of murder, one count of attempted murder, and possession of a lethal weapon during a violent crime is 17-year-old Karlos Damon Gibson.
Jakobe Fanning Death
Jakeem Griffin, a senior at Eau Claire, age 17, was also taken into custody and charged with adultery for attempted and actual murder. The police say there is a continuing investigation and that further arrests may be made. Eau Claire High School was also attended by the youngsters who were killed, the district superintendent Craig Witherspoon said in a statement. The lone survivor went to a middle school in the area. Due to the horrific event, the district increased security and counseling at the high school on Monday.
Just after 2:00 p.m., sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene of the shooting in Columbia, the state capital. Sunday, September 24, 2023, according to the Department of Sheriffs. Based on a redacted event report, the two gunmen pursued the victims after they ran to the backyard and kept shooting at the house. It was a part of a “beef” that, according to Lott, started with a break-in two years ago.
Dre’von Riley Death
The sheriff’s department reported that three of the victims, ages 16 and 17, passed away in the hospital while the fourth, age 14, was released. The deceased were identified as JaKobe Fanning, Caleb Wise, and Dre’von Riley by the Richland County Coroner’s office. During a press conference on Monday, Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott declined to disclose the method of obtaining the firearms. But too many gun owners in Columbia, he claimed, leave their weapons unattended in automobiles, making them vulnerable to theft.
