News of Andrews’ passing has stunned all who knew and loved her as they were completely taken aback by the tragic turn of events.
Jaiden is being mourned for her strength of character, tenacity and vivacious personality which shined through in all interactions she had with others.
A high-level athlete who excelled everywhere she went, Jaiden Andrews was a former star at Plymouth South High School.
Andrews was a dynamo on the track during her High School days, making a name for herself for her prowess. Andrews surpassed lofty expectations placed on her and set record after record in the competition.
Her favorite events include the 100 m hurdles, 100 and 200m dash, the 4x100m and 4x400m relay, and the 55-m hurdles (indoor) dash.
Her talent and abilities earned her a place at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth where she continued her athletic excellence.
In the 2002 outdoor season, Andrews competed in eight meets, finishing in the top three in 16 different events! She was first place three times and ran a personal best time of 26.10 in the 200-meter dash at the CGA Spring Invite followed by a personal best time of 12.54 in the 100-meter at LEC Championships.
In one of the proudest moments of her life, she was named the Little East Conference (LEC) Women’s Track Rookie of the Year.
She continued her dominance in the 2023 outdoor season where she once again competed in eight meets with three first-place finishes in the 100m hurdles. Andrews was part of the x400-meter relay team that took first place at the LEC Championships.
Her efforts earned her accolades including being named 2022 All-Little East First Team for the indoor 55-m hurdles, 2022 All-Little East First Team for 100-m Hurdles (Outdoor), 2022 USTFCCCA All-East Region for 100-m Hurdles (Outdoor), and 2023 All-Little East First Team for both the 100-m hurdles and 4×400-m relay outdoor events.
By all accounts, Andrews was an excellent athlete, a dedicated and talented one who proved her mettle everywhere she competed. She was admired, adored, and respected for her talents and was even a bit feared by all who had to line up on the track beside her.
With such talent comes lofty expectations and there were certainly numerous such expectations on Jaiden Andrews.
Tragically, they did not get a chance to fully pan out after a tragic accident robbed the world of her brilliance.
Jaiden Andrews was involved in a car accident in Plymouth MA that ended her life, according to reports.
Details of what happened are scant but some reports indicate her car lost control, crashed, caught fire and tragically ended with her death.
Authorities are yet to release details of this crash but nevertheless the undisputed result of the collision is the extremely sad passing of Andrews.
Family, friends, colleagues and former competitors of Andrews are all floored by the news of her passing, with many wondering how such a promising future has been cut so short.
Tragedies such as these are bitter pills to swallow but the memory we hold of those loved ones who passed ensure their legacies leave on forever. Jaiden will never be forgotten if those close to her hold her memory dear and near.
