Jahfari Joseph Obituary, Death; – The former spouse of a man accused in the homicide of a Plattsburgh resident has been apprehended and charged as the investigation into the matter progresses.
Kelly Timmons has been indicted by a grand jury on charges of second-degree murder and conspiracy for allegedly supplying her ex-husband, Timothy Timmons, with the firearm utilized in the killing of Jahfari Joseph in December.
She was taken into custody on a warrant on Friday and is presently held at the Clinton County Jail, awaiting her appearance before a judge to respond to the charges.
NBC5 has also reported that 61-year-old Timothy Timmons has been indicted by a grand jury on similar charges of second-degree murder and conspiracy. He has been in police custody since his arrest in January on a second-degree murder charge.
Timothy Timmons is accused of murdering Joseph on the evening of December 29 and subsequently providing false information to investigators regarding the incident. Law enforcement was able to make the arrest based on witness testimonies and evidence collected from cell phone video and audio recordings.
Investigators have established that Joseph was killed at a residence in Peru owned by Kelly Timmons on December 29, and his remains were later removed from the site. Clinton County District Attorney Andrew Wylie indicated that Joseph may have had a dispute with a member of the Timmons family prior to his death.
Earlier this month, New York State Police discovered Joseph’s body following an extensive search that examined over 225 leads and tips. An autopsy revealed that Joseph died from a gunshot wound to the chest, and his death has been classified as a homicide.
