Jacob Langford Obituary, Death; – A 19-year-old individual lost his life in a collision in Cedar Park, which authorities suspect may have been the result of racing, according to police reports.
Jacob Langford, a resident of Cedar Park, was pronounced dead at the scene on Saturday, as stated in a social media update from the Cedar Park Police Department.
Law enforcement received a call regarding the incident at 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, occurring in the 6400 block of the southbound 183 tollway. Reports indicate that the driver of the first vehicle was traveling at approximately 100 mph when Langford, operating the second vehicle, attempted to overtake at an estimated speed of 140 mph. Subsequently, Langford lost control and collided with a guardrail, as per police accounts.
Authorities have yet to disclose the identity of the other driver or provide details about the vehicles involved. Currently, police have indicated that they believe excessive speed and the possibility of racing contributed to the occurrence of this crash.
