Jackson’s passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of his family and all who knew him. Born to Scott and Shelley Szypszak, Jackson’s life was filled with love, laughter, and a passion for the things he held dear.
Jackson graduated from Homestead High School (HHS) in 2021, where he left a lasting impression both on and off the football field. As a member of the HHS football team, Jackson proudly wore the number 7 jersey, embodying the spirit of teamwork and determination that made him a standout player.
His dedication to the sport was evident in every game, but it was his vibrant personality and unwavering passion that truly set him apart. Jackson’s love for football was just one of many interests that defined his life.
Fishing was another one of Jackson’s great passions. Known for his signature saying, “got to be chunky to catch chunky,” Jackson’s enthusiasm for the sport was infectious. Whether casting a line on a quiet afternoon or sharing stories of the one that got away, Jackson found joy in the simple pleasures of life.
His time spent “Up North” on Muskie Lake was especially cherished, as it allowed him to connect with nature and unwind in one of his favorite places. Those who accompanied him on these trips often found themselves captivated by his love for the outdoors and his ability to find humor and happiness in every moment.
Jackson’s passion for life extended beyond sports and fishing. He had a keen interest in poker, where his competitive spirit and sharp mind found a perfect outlet. His many friendships were another testament to his warm and outgoing nature.
Jackson had a way of making everyone feel welcome, and his sense of humor and infectious smile could light up any room. His friends and family knew him as someone who was always ready with a joke or a kind word, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
After graduating from Homestead High School, Jackson attended Western Technical College in La Crosse, Wisconsin, where he pursued a degree in Welding & Fabrication. It was here that Jackson discovered a new passion—working with his hands and creating something tangible.
He developed an obsession with railings and took great pride in his work, aspiring to leave his mark on commercial buildings. Jackson was known for his attention to detail and his keen eye for quality, often remarking on poor workmanship and confidently asserting that he could do better. His dedication to his craft was a reflection of the determination and passion that he brought to all aspects of his life.
Jackson’s family was the cornerstone of his world. He was a precious son to Scott and Shelley, a cherished brother to Emma, and a beloved grandson to Jon and MaryAnn Lund. Though his paternal grandparents, Robert and Roselyn Szypszak, had passed before him, their influence and love were always present in Jackson’s life.
