Death, Jack Watson – It was announced in a post that was published by Cycling Ireland On their official Facebook page a few hours ago that Jack Watson had passed away. This information was officially validated. The publication made the following statement: “It is with great sadness that Cycling Ireland extends deepest sympathy to the family of Jack Watson, MBE, who passed away on Monday, the 29th of July.”
Over the course of his entire life, Jack made a big contribution to the cause of cycling around the island of Ireland whenever he had the opportunity to do so. To assist in bringing cycling in Ireland to the current position it is in, Jack, who was one of the founders of Cycling Ireland, possessed tremendous leadership and vision.
He was able to contribute to the formation of Cycling Ireland. In addition, Bob Quinn mentioned in a remark that he posted on the website, “I was one of three cyclists representing my All-Ireland winning club (Tuam) around the year 1995.” My friendship with Jack began around that time period, and we continued to keep in touch with one another through the medium of letters over the course of the succeeding few years.
This was an extremely thoughtful and considerate move, and it was a gesture that was very much appreciated by everyone. Have a peaceful rest, Jack. Other information, including arrangements for the funeral, will be shared at a later time. He has earned the right to rest in peace.
