Isaiah W Stott Obituary, Death;- The individual who was fatally shot following an altercation with a police officer near the intersection of 27th and Wisconsin in Milwaukee on Wednesday has been identified by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office as Isaiah W. Stott, aged 24.
The confrontation resulted in the death of Stott at the hands of Milwaukee police. Additionally, an officer sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital.
The incident occurred shortly before noon on Wednesday, close to Marquette University. According to police reports, officers were dispatched to the scene in response to reports of a man discharging a firearm.
Upon arrival, officers confronted Stott and instructed him to relinquish his weapon. However, he allegedly refused to comply and instead opened fire on the officers. In response, a 37-year-old male officer, who has served for eight years, discharged his weapon at Stott. A 34-year-old male officer, also with eight years of service, was injured during the exchange, reportedly suffering gunshot wounds to both the torso and leg.
The Milwaukee Area Investigative Team is overseeing the investigation, with the Oak Creek Police Department serving as the lead agency. Authorities have indicated that video footage of the incident will be released in accordance with standard operating procedure 575. The officer who fired his weapon will be placed on administrative duty, following established protocol.
