Isaiah Neal Obituary, – In less than 24 hours, the city of Lawrence has experienced its second homicide. The most recent incident took place early Thursday morning on the south side of Lawrence, resulting in the tragic death of a 17-year-old boy named Isaiah Neal.
Upon receiving a report of a shooting at 2406 Alabama, Lawrence police officers promptly arrived at the scene just after 1:15 a.m. They discovered Neal with multiple gunshot wounds and immediately administered life-saving aid until paramedics from Lawrence Douglas County Fire Medical arrived. Despite their efforts, Neal was unable to survive and passed away at the hospital. As the investigation unfolded, officers secured the area while witnesses and family members gathered.
Lawrence police investigators have been diligently working throughout the night and into Thursday morning, following leads to uncover the truth behind this senseless act of violence. However, as of 10 a.m. Thursday, no arrests have been made. This marks the second homicide in Lawrence this week, with the previous incident occurring on Tuesday near the Lawrence Community Shelter.
