RAVENSWOOD, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A night out turned chaotic when police responded to an altercation involving an intoxicated man at McDonald’s in Ravenswood. The suspect, identified as Jeremiah Reynolds, was taken into custody after reportedly following and confronting two individuals across town.

At approximately 10:39 p.m., Patrolman Anderson was dispatched to the fast food restaurant following reports that a man had shoved another male during a heated disturbance. As the officer headed north on Washington Street, he observed a male matching the suspect’s description—later confirmed as Reynolds—who appeared nervous and repeatedly looked back toward the patrol vehicle.

When approached by the officer, Reynolds claimed he had come from a bar and stopped at McDonald’s but left because he wasn’t welcome. The officer noted a strong smell of alcohol and visible signs of intoxication. At that point, Reynolds’ father appeared and questioned why police were speaking to his son. Ptl. Anderson explained the nature of the call and continued the investigation.

Reynolds was identified as the aggressor in the incident, according to the victim, Hagen Anderson, and his girlfriend, Kaylen Briptingham. Both stated that Reynolds had initially confronted them at Taco Bell, using homophobic slurs and aggressive language before following them to McDonald’s, where the encounter escalated. Witnesses reported that Reynolds shoved Anderson into a wall before employees intervened.

Anderson admitted to briefly pulling a knife in an attempt to de-escalate the situation before retreating with Briptingham into the back of the restaurant. Both individuals expressed fear for their safety and stated their intent to press charges.

Once placed in handcuffs, Reynolds resisted being placed into the patrol car, forcing officers to restrain him physically. Upon arrival at the Ravenswood Police Department, Reynolds continued to be combative—kicking doors, screaming, and refusing to comply with instructions. After processing, he was taken to Jackson General Hospital for treatment of minor abrasions and then transported to South Central Regional Jail.
