Ibrahim Salam Sankoh Obituary, Death; – The deceased individual, an 18-year-old from Columbus, Ohio, who was rescued from the ocean in Nags Head, has been identified. Emergency services from Nags Head, including the Fire, Rescue, and Police Departments, responded to a distress call at the Gull Street public beach on July 3.
They assisted three swimmers in trouble, successfully bringing two back to shore, one of whom was aided by a Nags Head lifeguard. Both individuals were transported to the Outer Banks Hospital for medical treatment. Unfortunately, the third swimmer remained missing. A Nags Head police officer utilized a drone to locate the missing swimmer, who was eventually found and rescued by Nags Head lifeguards. The swimmer, identified as Ibrahim Salam Sankoh, was then taken to the Outer Banks Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
