According to a news release issued by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office on Monday, a man who had shot and killed his fiancee before taking his own life has been found dead in what law enforcement officials are now describing as a murder-suicide. Huong Ngoc Hoa, 34, and Hung S. Song, 32, were discovered by deputies who responded to allegations of a shooting that occurred shortly after midnight on Sunday in the 9100 block of Waverly Walk Drive in east Orange. The couple was engaged at the time of their discovery.
It was reported in a news release issued by the agency on Sunday on the incident that both individuals were suffering from gunshot wounds, with Song’s wounds appearing to have been self-inflicted. According to the release issued by law authorities on Monday, Hoa was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident, while Song was transported to the hospital, where he sustained injuries and ultimately passed away.
According to the announcement, the evidence suggests that Song committed a murder-suicide, in which he first shot Hoa and then shot himself. However, no other information was provided. When the initial announcement was made, the sheriff’s office did not identify the victims or provide any information on their ties to one another.
