Hong B Su Obituary, Death; – A man tragically lost his life after being swept out to sea while fishing near Depoe Bay on Wednesday, as reported by the Oregon State Police.
At approximately 2 p.m. on January 15, law enforcement officials responded to an ongoing surf rescue at the northern end of Otter Crest Loop, located just south of Depoe Bay. According to OSP, two individuals were fishing on the rocky shoreline when a wave unexpectedly carried one of them into the ocean.
The victim, identified by OSP as 45-year-old Hong B. Su from Happy Valley, spent approximately 39 minutes in the water before being located by the United States Coast Guard. He was declared deceased upon arrival at the Depoe Bay Coast Guard station. Further details have not been disclosed at this time.
