Holly Parsons Obituary, Death – Following a protracted illness, Holly Parsons, age 77, of Elizabeth, West Virginia, died away peacefully at her residence on Monday, April 1, 2024. He was the son of Manford Parsons, who passed away, and Ola Greathouse Parsons, who resided in Elizabeth. His parents were not the only people who passed away before him; he was also predeceased by his sister and her husband, Opal and Robert Adams, as well as his brother-in-law, Roger King.
From 1967 until 1972, Holly, who adhered to the Baptist faith, served in the United States Army in Germany. In addition to working in the timber industry, Holly held jobs at the Viscose, Westvaco, and the Department of Highways. He was a member of the Elizabeth-Wirt Volunteer Fire Department for more than 38 years, as well as a member of the American Fire and Ambulance #41 in St. Marys for 38 years, and he was committed to the American Fire and Ambulance #82 in Elizabeth. His hobbies were fishing, hunting, camping, and working on vintage automobiles.
Holly is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sara; his children Craig Kelley, Michael C Parsons, and Aaron L Parsons; his grandchildren Aaron Michael, Mackenzie Elizabeth, Jade Kye, Hunter David, Eric Matthew, Mika Leann, and Madison Lynn; his great-grandchildren Gabby, Boo, Anna, Paxton, Laiden, Kreed, Aubs, Makai, Skyler, and Benji; his siblings Barbara King, Sherman Parsons (Brenda), and Steve Parsons (Kim); and a large number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends all survive him.
Visitation will be held at the Matheny Whited Funeral Home in Elizabeth, West Virginia, on Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and on Friday, April 5, 2024, beginning at 9:00 am and continuing until the time of the ceremony. The funeral home will be the location of the funeral services on Friday, April 5 at 2:00 pm. Masonic Rites and military rites will be included in the ceremony. Next, the burial will take place at the family cemetery located on Horse Run Road in Elizabeth, West Virginia.
