Hezekiah Rahman Obituary, Death; – County authorities identified a 47-year-old man who lost his life after being hit by a black pickup truck at the Los Angeles-Vernon border on Saturday.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner’s office confirmed the victim as Hezekiah Rahman, aged 47. The incident took place at 1:35 a.m. on Friday, near the intersection of East Vernon Avenue and South Alameda Street, according to Officer Jeff Lee of the Los Angeles Police Department, who spoke with City News Service.
Rahman was in the process of crossing the street when he was struck by the southbound truck on Alameda Street, Lee reported.
He was declared dead at the scene, and the driver of the pickup remained at the location and cooperated with law enforcement, Lee added. Footage from the scene depicted the pickup on the sidewalk, with debris from a damaged trash holder scattered across the area.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, Lee stated.
