Henry Sisters Obituary, Death – Henry J. Sisters, a beloved resident of Essex Junction, Vermont, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 28, at the McClure Miller Respite House after a brief illness. He leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and cherished memories.
Henry was born in Huntington, Vermont, in 1931, to parents Henry and Grace Shattuck Sisters. He graduated from Vergennes High School in 1950 and then dedicated four years of his life to serving in the Air Force. In 1955, he married the love of his life, Patricia Little. Henry’s pursuit of knowledge led him to New Hampshire Technical College for two years. In 1957, he embarked on a career journey with IBM in Poughkeepsie, New York, before later transferring to Essex Junction, Vermont, where he dedicated 33 years of hard work.
In 1965, Henry and Pat built their cherished home in Essex Junction, where they lovingly raised their four sons. Throughout his life, Henry found joy in hunting and fishing at his camp in Ferrisburgh, playing golf, and sharing memorable moments camping and boating with his family. He was a dedicated supporter of his sons’ and grandsons’ hockey games, relishing in the excitement of the sport. Most importantly, he treasured the precious time spent with his family, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.
Henry is survived by his adoring wife of 68 years, Pat, and their four sons: Stephen, Todd, Jeffrey and his wife, Diane, and John and his wife, Aidan. He will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren: Nathanial, Trenton, and Shayla Sisters, and Summer and River Billings. Preceded in death by his parents and eight older siblings, Henry’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family.
The Sisters family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff and nurses at the McClure Miller Respite House who cared for Henry during his final days. In his honor, memorial donations can be made to the McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester.
A graveside service to celebrate Henry’s life with family and friends will take place at the Gage Cemetery in Ferrisburgh on a later date, offering an opportunity to pay final respects to a man whose life was filled with love and devotion
