Carlisle, Iowa:- A late-night collision in Warren County claimed the life of one youngster and wounded two others. A Toyota Camry Solara was seen heading north on 200th Avenue in Warren County on Sunday night, according to the Iowa State Patrol. Two of the three occupants were ejected when the car slid into the ditch close to the junction of Delaware Avenue and 200th Street.
After being taken to a hospital in Des Moines, one adolescent, who was fifteen years old, passed away. The other two, ages sixteen and fifteen, were transported by ambulance. Among the teenagers, at least one attends Carlisle High School. The victim was identified on social media as Hannah Shaffer of Carlisle, Iowa. The school board meeting and the baseball and softball games scheduled for Monday night have been rescheduled.
An inquiry is underway into the collision.
