NALLEN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Greenbrier County Commission is requesting bids for the 2025 mowing and trimming of Phase I of the Meadow River Rail Trail, a non-motorized recreational path that follows a former railroad corridor.

The project covers a stretch of trail beginning near the Post Office in Nallen and running upriver to the Meadow River Bridge near Burdette’s Creek.

In addition to the approximately 66-foot-wide right of way along the trail, roughly three acres of land in Russellville also require maintenance.

Mowing and trimming are to be completed once each in May, June, July, September, and October of 2025. The contract will be awarded to the lowest qualified bidder.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 9 a.m. on May 12, 2025, at the Nallen Post Office, located at 9001 Wilderness Highway.

Bids must be submitted by 3 p.m. on May 23, 2025. Late submissions will not be considered.

Interested bidders can access the required forms at greenbriercounty.net/rfp-bid-packets or by contacting project coordinator Matt Ford at [email protected].

All bid-related questions must be submitted via email by 5 p.m. on May 16.
