A major collision that occurred on Sunday evening on the 33 eastbound at the Grider Street exit is being investigated by the Buffalo police department.
It was approximately 9:30 p.m. when a Nissan Altima was travelling in the opposite direction when it collided head-on with another vehicle, as stated by the police. The video was captured on a cell phone and shared on social media.
It shows a group of individuals working together to remove one of the victims from a vehicle. Meanwhile, other spectators are directing traffic around the accident scene until the police come.
In the footage, a battered automobile with its front end completely destroyed can be seen. A growing cloud of smoke can be observed as people congregate in the area. It is possible to hear witnesses stating that the car was travelling in the wrong direction on the 33 before it collided with another vehicle.
It was reported by the police that a male of 26 years of age was operating the car that was travelling in the opposite direction. He was taken to ECMC by ambulance and is currently listed as being in critical condition.
According to reports, the two people who were riding in the other vehicle were taken to ECMC by ambulance to receive treatment for injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening. The collision is still being looked at by authorities.
