Gloria Miller Obituary, Death; – Authorities in Alabama have reported that a man confessed to strangling his wife during a confrontation over the weekend.
According to Dothan police Lt. Ronald Hall, the incident escalated into violence late Saturday night involving Stephen Miller and his spouse, Gloria Miller. Investigators revealed that Stephen Miller wrapped his hands around his wife’s throat, ultimately leading to her death by asphyxiation.
Following the incident, he transported Gloria Miller’s body in the bed of his pickup truck and disposed of it in a creek located several miles away in Geneva County. Initially, Dothan police stated that Stephen Miller reported his wife as missing; however, as they examined his narrative, they grew increasingly skeptical. Lt. Hall noted, “He essentially realized that his statements were inconsistent, leaving him with no option but to confess.”
Stephen Miller initially presented himself as a distraught husband searching for his wife of over three decades, even reaching out to local media to share her photograph. Nevertheless, investigators found his account to be implausible, leading him to ultimately admit to the crime. The couple had a documented history of domestic disputes, with both parties having filed complaints against one another.
“There is a helpline available for domestic violence, and individuals can always reach out to law enforcement,” Hall emphasized. The lieutenant commended the officers for their diligent work in resolving the case. “We had investigators deployed throughout the area,” he remarked. Stephen Miller has been charged with murder and is currently held in custody with a bond set at $1.5 million.
