Gerald Steer Death – “The” Gerald J. Steer, who had spent his whole life in Shelton and was 91 years old at the time of his dying, died away in a calm and serene manner on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. Because he was her husband, Yvonne Sire Steer, who had died away, had held him in high regard. His presence was the only one left. In Duryea, Pennsylvania, on March 16, 1933, he was born to Joseph and Eleanor Viscavage Steer, both of whom have since passed away.
He was the only child of his parents. In honor of his father, Gerald Steer was given his name. During the course of a considerable amount of time, Gerald was employed at Avco Lycoming, where he was in charge of conducting tests on turbine engines. He served in the United States Air Force from July 1951 to February 1956. His time in the service spanned over this time period. During that time, he was stationed in France, and he was received with honor upon his departure from the military.
Classic automobiles were another thing that interested him, in addition to reading and painting. Both reading and sketching were among his favorite pastimes. Among the members of his family who are still alive are his daughter, Yasmine V. Cronin, and her husband, Craig, who reside in North Haven; his three grandchildren, James and Christopher Steer, who reside in Stratford; and Craig J. Cronin, who resides in Woodbridge with his wife Kimberly; his two great-grandchildren.
Chloe and Brody Cronin; his brother, James Steer, who resides in Duryea, Pennsylvania; his sister, Virginia Steer, who resides in Pittston, Pennsylvania; his daughter-in-law, Judith Steer, who resides in Stratford; and a number of nieces and nephews. Gerald Steer, his son Richard Steer, and his sister-in-law Marcia Steer have all been found to have gone away after his passing, according to the findings of the official investigation.
