Allentown, Pennsylvania are mourning the passing of Gabriela Velazquez, a Central Catholic High School. Velazquez, a sophomore reportedly passed away on Friday, July 12, leaving her family and loved ones.
The Allentown Central Catholic community is sad to announce the sudden passing of rising sophomore Gabriella Velazquez. As a parish community we raise up in pray Gabby, and all her family and friends during this most difficult time.

Gabriella “Gabby” Velazquez was a source of joy and laughter for her loved ones, as she consistently radiated positivity and joy. Gabby’s fervor for life was unparalleled, and her devotion to cheerleading was the focal point of her existence. From a tender age, Gabby aspired to compete at the esteemed Cheerleading Worlds, a goal that she pursued with unwavering determination. Last year, her unwavering commitment and diligence were rewarded when she successfully realized her aspiration, thereby demonstrating her exceptional talent and fortitude on a global scale.
Gabby was a cherished figure in the cheer community due to her unwavering support for her teammates and her vibrant personality. She possessed an intrinsic capacity to inspire those in her vicinity, consistently prepared to offer a kind word or a motivating cheer.
Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and all those who were affected by her infectious enthusiasm.
