BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A fatal shooting late Saturday night has left a woman dead and sparked an ongoing investigation by the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were dispatched to the parking lot of Blue Clouds Market, located on Wible Road just south of Belle Terrace, at around 11:00 p.m. on April 5, 2025, following reports of multiple gunshots in the area.
Upon arrival, responding deputies discovered a gunshot victim at the scene. The victim, now identified by authorities as Jessica Arevalos, was pronounced dead on-site.
The shooting led to the temporary closure of the market’s parking lot as well as portions of Wible Road while deputies secured the scene and began a thorough investigation. The roadway was reopened to traffic in the early hours of Sunday morning.
At this time, officials have not confirmed whether there were any additional victims, and no suspect information has been released. No arrests have been made as the investigation remains active.
