(PINPOINT WEATHER) — Aside from the continued wildfire risk, we got some pretty nice weather on Wednesday. But plan for a colder night ahead!
As the wind relaxes under a mostly clear sky, temperatures will tumble into the 30s by morning. A Frost Advisory has been issued for Anson & Stanly counties with sub-freezing temps expected. Protect any sensitive outside plants before bed tonight!

There will be less wind Thursday, but it’s just as dry, so please continue to adhere to the burn ban in place across the Carolinas. No outdoor burning is permitted!

We need the rain, and the chances are looking better by the end of the weekend and early next week. A couple of weak disturbances and fronts will affect us starting Friday, bringing the chance of a few showers — even a thunderstorm — mainly to the mountains by evening. Shower chances remain low through Saturday, but another system could bring some showers or a storm to parts of our area on Sunday.
Monday is a day we’ll have to watch as a stronger system may bring a chance of severe weather. Keep checking in for updates on Queen City News!
Tonight: Mainly clear and colder. Low 37.
Thursday: Mostly sunny, less wind. High 70.
