(PINPOINT WEATHER) — High pressure builds back into the Carolinas as morning snow showers taper off over our mountain counties and temperatures fall into the 30s and 20s. We have a cold morning with breezy winds coming out of the north-northwest between 10 and 15 miles per hour.
Wind chills in our mountains can be in the lower teens as gusts continue to blow as fast as 40+ miles per hour through the early morning. A Wind Advisory will continue for Ashe, Avery, Watauga, and Caldwell counties until 8 AM.

Temperatures will peak below normal Friday only hitting the low to mid-60s around Uptown while our mountains make a run for the low 50s. We’ll be clear through this Friday evening allowing overnight lows to dip into the low 40s heading into the weekend.
Saturday & Sunday look warm and dry as 70s dominate through the weekend. Clouds will slowly build ahead of rain chances moving back in for Monday to kick off the work week.

We’ll be in the low 70 to upper 60s heading into the mid-portions of mid-week.
Friday: Mostly Sunny & Comfortable. High: 63.
Friday Night: Clear & Cold. Low: 40.
