Frank Sibley Death News: QPR FC Mourns The Death Of Legend Frank Sibley, Who Passed Away Unexpectedly
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of QPR legend Frank Sibley.
Sibley, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2004, passed away on Friday at the age of 76.
Sibley made his debut for the R’s at the age of just 15, going on to represent the club 168 times between 1963 and 1971.
A part of QPR’s double-winning side, which won the Third Division title and the League Cup in 1967, Sibley was forced to retire due to injury at the age of just 23, moving into a coaching role at the club under Gordon Jago.
Sibley would go on to be Dave Sexton’s assistant before taking over as manager himself in 1977, when he was just 29.
He would leave a year later before returning to Loftus Road in the late 1980s, taking on coaching roles as well as being in caretaker charge of the side.
Sibley was also part of Gerry Francis’s coaching setup in the 1990s.
