Emergency services, including police and fire personnel, were dispatched to a residence on Dogwood Road at approximately 4:40 p.m. on Friday following reports of a man trapped beneath a fallen tree. Upon arrival, first responders discovered that Gallipoli, aged 69, had been in the process of cutting the tree when it unexpectedly toppled, resulting in fatal injuries, as stated by the Orange police in a news release issued on Friday evening.
Family members had dialed 911, prompting the Orange Volunteer Fire Department to utilize specialized inflatable airbags to extricate the man from beneath the tree, according to police reports.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner was called to the scene to conduct an investigation, and authorities have indicated that no criminal charges are anticipated in relation to this incident.
