Francisco Guzman Gaytan Obituary, Death; – A 45-year-old man discovered deceased on a jogging path at the Parkland Prairie Nature Preserve has been identified by the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Francisco Guzman Gaytan was pronounced dead on January 5, near the 13000 block of South Yakima Avenue. The official cause and manner of death remain under investigation, as indicated in a news release from the office. This designation is temporary and is utilized when further investigation, information, or test results are necessary for certification.
Deputies were called to the scene around 7:30 a.m. after a local resident reported seeing Gaytan’s body and contacted 911 for a welfare check, as previously reported by The News Tribune. Although no weapons were located at the site, there were signs of foul play that rendered the circumstances of the death suspicious.
According to a post from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department on Facebook, Gaytan exhibited signs of “blunt trauma.” Individuals who had any acquaintance with Gaytan are encouraged to reach out to the Sheriff’s Department to assist detectives in gathering additional information about him. As of Wednesday, no arrests have been made, and the investigation continues.
