This month, three Greenwood police officers resigned over allegations that they misappropriated department technology, and two others face termination as a result of the allegations. The following five officers have been subjected to disciplinary action by Jim Ison, Chief of Police of the Greenwood Police Department:
Jacob Hagist was hired on 10/19/2020 and quit on 8/17/2023. Sam Bowen was hired on 10/19/2020 and is now employed. Elijah Allen was hired on 4/15/2019 and is currently employed.
Zane Hennig was hired on June 7, 2021, and he resigned on October 8, 2023.
Tyler Kintzele was employed on August 19, 2019, and he resigned on August 10, 2023.
The combined experience of these five officers does not exceed four years since they joined the force.
According to the information provided by the city attorney, the police department currently has 69 officers due to recent resignations. The Greenwood City Building will be the location of the disciplinary hearing that will take place on 20 September at 5 o’clock.
