CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A family is displaced after a fire erupted at a home in east Charlotte.
Firefighters were called to the 6300 block of Kelsey Drive around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday. Crews arrived on the scene and noticed smoke coming from the home.
Fortunately, the home had working smoke detectors, and the occupants evacuated safely.
It took firefighters 13 minutes to control the fire.
There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
Although the exact cause remains undetermined, investigators say the fire started in a bedroom. The fire caused approximately $32k in damages.
The case remains open and under investigation.
