(PINPOINT WEATHER) — Good Saturday morning and welcome to the weekend! An excellent weekend of weather is ahead! We will experience plenty of sunshine, dry conditions, and spring warmth through the weekend.
A cool start this morning, with temperatures in the 30s and 40s to start the day. Expect temperatures to climb quickly into the low to mid-70s later this afternoon. Looks comfortable for the Charlotte FC game this evening, just a bit breezy throughout the game. You may want to have a jacket handy.

Wind gusts today will be between 20-30 mph at times. Extremely dry air will also be in today’s forecast, which will increase wildfire danger!
A fire weather warning has been issued for most of the Queen City News viewing area.
Avoid any open flames today and be careful with the use of any machinery that could cause a spark. This includes the use of lawnmowers and power tools. If you are grilling out today, be sure to use extreme caution and use equipment correctly. Also, discard of cigarettes appropriately. This means no throwing cigarettes on the ground or out of your vehicle window!

We will turn cool again tonight, with lows falling back into the 30s and 40s.
Another warm and sunny day is ahead for Sunday, with temperatures rising back into the low to mid-70s.
A cold front will move in for Monday and bring a few scattered showers to the region. Only a tenth of rain looks likely from this system, with possibly up to a quarter of an inch of rain towards the mountains.
Otherwise, a mainly dry and seasonable week of weather is coming up for the new work week! Be sure to continue to exercise caution with any open flames. All of North Carolina and South Carolina are under a burn ban until further notice.
Enjoy your weekend!
