Evelyn Barnes Death: Evelyn Grisham Barnes, a cherished member of the Iuka, MS community, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the age of 83 at Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home. Evelyn’s life was marked by her love for gardening, her passion for reading, her curiosity for the internet, and her deep affection for her beloved dog, Heidi. She will be remembered for her vibrant personality and the joy she brought to those around her.
Evelyn was a dedicated member of Spring Hill Church, where her faith and fellowship were a central part of her life. Her presence in the church community was a testament to her enduring spirit and commitment to her beliefs.
Evelyn is survived by her loving family: her son, Keith Barnes and his partner Troy; her sister, JoAnn Bolton and her husband Lamar; her nieces, Kim Carpenter and her husband Brad, and Katie Beth Woods; her nephews, Matthew Woods and his wife Jeannie, Guy Carpenter, and Blake Woods; and her brother-in-law, Wayne Woods. Her family and friends will forever cherish the memories they made with her and the love she shared.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James “Jimmy” Barnes; her parents, William Joseph and Bernice Lois Gray Grisham; her sister-in-law, Linda Woods; and her brother-in-law, Jackie Barnes. Though they are no longer with us, their spirits live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved them.
Arrangements for Evelyn’s memorial have been entrusted to Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, July 30, 2024, from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. A service to celebrate her life will follow at 3:00 P.M. at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Jimmy Smith. Evelyn will be laid to rest at Rutledge Salem Cemetery.
