Evan Michael Chase Obituary – Upon receiving a report from the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), it was revealed that on July 5 around 5 p.m., an accidental shooting occurred at the George Nourse Gun Range located south of Nampa. Upon arrival at the scene, CCSO deputies discovered a 26-year-old man who had sustained a gunshot wound to the stomach from a rifle. The rifle was discharged accidentally while another individual was attempting to unload it, as per CCSO.
The victim has been identified as Evan Michael Chase from Nampa. Despite life-saving efforts, Chase tragically passed away due to his injuries at the scene.
Sheriff Kieran Donahue expressed his condolences, stating, “This was a tragic incident that sadly claimed the life of a young man over the Fourth of July weekend. My thoughts are with his loved ones. It is a somber reminder of the dangers of firearms and the importance of handling them with caution.”
CCSO has indicated that no further details will be disclosed regarding this accidental fatality.
