On Monday, Ash’s fellow comedian and close friend, Loni Love, took to social media to confirm the star’s death and pay tribute to her memory.“I am sad to confirm my friend and fellow actress Erica Ashe’s passing.
Erica was talented and hilarious whether it was the show Survivor’s Remorse or Madtv she would put her all into her work,” Love captioned her tribute post. “She would always just be there.. now she’s gone. My sincere condolences to her family and fans” Love’s Instagram page featured several photos of her and Ash, including snapshots of the late star during an appearance on The Real, which Love co-hosted alongside Adrienne Bailon, Jeannie Mai and Garcelle Beauvais until it was canceled in 2022.
Erica Chantal Ash was born in Florida on Sept. 19, 1977, and attended Emory University. She worked on Broadway in 2011 in Baby It’s You!, the jukebox musical from Floyd Mutrux and Colin Escott that featured music from The Shirelles and other acts signed to Scepter Records.
