Eric Campbell Missing; Crescent City CA, Help find 47-year-old man with seizure disorder last seen since September 17: 47-year-old Eric Campbell has been missing since September 17th. He was camped at Patrick’s Creek, off Highway 199 in Del Norte County.
“Eric is an avid outdoorsman. We grew up in that area,” his sister, Brandy Smith, told Redwood News, adding, “[We’ve been] camping up there since we were tiny, and he would hunt and fish with my dad and uncles up there. So he’s really familiar with the area.
Brandy claims Eric had been camping up there with a buddy a few weeks previously, “and he chose to go back and camp for the week that he went missing; that week, he was going to camp because he was starting a new job in Crescent City, helping to repair the house. So he camped by himself. He had two dogs.
Eric’s dogs were discovered unharmed in his truck by his loved ones, who had gone seeking for him in the neighbourhood.
“So the family, we found his truck and campsite abandoned,” Brandy recalled. “I mean, it was abandoned.” It was left set up as if he were going to return immediately away: his phone, tablet, dog, and keys were all in his truck. His bank cards were present. We can only account for one missing item: a pair of shoes. So we think he left with only what he was wearing.
Brandy also stated that he would never have gone out for a walk without his two dogs. She also mentioned that Eric’s tools, which he required for a remodelling job in the area, were in his vehicle. When asked if it was common for the family to go this long without hearing from Eric, she quickly replied, “No. He communicates with my mother and father on a daily basis.
“So at first we thought because he does have a seizure disorder and maybe he had a seizure and got disoriented,” according to her. “Perhaps he went out onto Highway 199 and was picked up by someone. We don’t get the impression that he’s in the mountains right now. We believe he departed the area, as if someone had taken him.”
Her request was simple: “If anyone saw anything or knows anything to please come forward.”
She also stated that due to the lack of cameras along that stretch of rural roadway and forest, looking at CCTV is out of the question, thus the family is relying on someone seeing Eric.
“It is dreadful. “We just want to know what happened.”
If you saw Eric on or around September 17th, please notify the Del Norte County Sheriff. Eric stands 5’6 and has blue eyes.
