Emilio Rosas Obituary, Death;- Authorities have apprehended two individuals in relation to the shooting of a 56-year-old man outside a bodega in Belmont on Monday, as reported by the NYPD.
The NYPD’s 48th Precinct has charged 62-year-old Tony Harris with second-degree murder and 35-year-old Shantelle Degout with first-degree manslaughter on Tuesday, following the incident that resulted in the victim’s death. The deceased has been identified as Emilio Rosas, a resident of Belmont.
Rosas lost his life following an apparent confrontation at a bodega located near his residence. Law enforcement officials stated that he was discovered around 6:30 p.m. on Monday, unconscious and unresponsive, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest, outside the deli situated at East 187th Street and Crotona Avenue.
Emergency services were dispatched in response to a 911 call and transported Rosas to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
In addition to the second-degree murder charge, Harris faces charges of first-degree manslaughter and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon. Degout has also been charged with both first- and second-degree assault.
