Elizabeth Beth Ramsey Obituary, Death; – A 51-year-old woman from Centralia was declared deceased at the site of a collision involving an SUV and a motorcycle on the eastern side of Centralia on Sunday afternoon.

Marion County Coroner Claude Howell confirmed the identity of the victim as Elizabeth ‘Beth’ Ramsey.

Preliminary reports suggest that she was riding as a passenger on her husband’s motorcycle when it collided with the rear of an eastbound SUV that had halted in traffic, waiting for another vehicle to turn left onto Edgewood Lane.

According to Howell, Ramsey suffered multiple injuries as she was ejected from the motorcycle.

Her husband was taken from the scene by Lifestar Ambulance to the helipad at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia, and subsequently transported to a hospital in St. Louis for further treatment. His identity has not yet been disclosed by the Centralia Police.

A State Accident Reconstructionist has been summoned to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Centralia Police and Fire departments responded to the incident at 2:40 PM on Sunday. Route 161, from Pleasant to Airport Road, was closed for several hours following the accident.

Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
